Application

Building designers have been searching for new material to perform the facade for many years, and in contemporary architecture glass is applied on a large scale. Houses, offices, public buildings are filled with light, but high degree of transparency of glass can lead to rooms overheating and high permeability of UV rays.

In order to prevent this architects need modern solutions for glazing installed in facades, and a response to these demands are Sun panes Effector Sun Effect. In panes there is glass produced in the process of deposition of metal layers or metal oxides, which allows for ultra-thin coating giving a uniform appearance and the highest optical quality.

Due to the design, manufacturing process and impact on the reduction of radiation protection, sun glass is divided into three groups: absorption, reflection and selective.

Sun panes with absorption glass:

It is the basic solution used in sun panes. Absorption glass is colored in the mass during the melting process in the glassworks. The color of blue, brown, charcoal and green causes strong absorption of the relevant part of the spectrum. Through the phenomenon of absorption such glass becomes very hot by absorbing about 50% of solar energy and then dissipates energy, again directing it outside. For this reason it is used as the outer pane in glazing. Low degree of light reflection, a bit less than clear float glass, is typical of it. Depending on the needs for achieving the desired energy balance for the entire glazing both the color and thickness of the glass are chosen appropriately, because the effect of absorption panes increases with increasing thickness of the glass.

Sun panes with reflective glass:

Glass with a reflective coating (Reflex) used in sun panes is a more advanced solution. Reflective coating is applied on the glass during production process. Its task is to reflect both visible light and solar heat. The use of reflective glass of different colors, in addition to shape the energy balance, is often used to improve aesthetic values of the building or surrounding buildings (the effect of mirroring of the surrounding architecture in elevation).

Both types of sun glass can be almost freely combined with other types of glass units. The combination with low-emission glass or burglary glass in one glazing meet expectations of very wide range of end users and create multi-functional sets, effectively protecting against unwanted energy exchange at any time of year.

Sun panes with selective glass:

Sun panes Effector Sun Effect made of selective glass have recently became the most popular product, due to two times higher degree of thermal insulation. Once glass with a selective coating could be distinguished from clear glass due to blue shade. Currently, selective glass is colorless, so it can be identified with a special sensor responsive to metal oxides on the glass sheet. It may also be tinted in glass mass in blue, brown, gray and green. Multiple coating with metal oxides allows for proper reflect effect, control rooms and reduce sunlight penetration of solar energy, as well as provide high heat protection. Glazing chamber is selectively filled with argon, which improves the thermal insulation of about 20%

* It is recommended to use solar glazing with reflective coating inside glazing (item # 2). Glazing with reflective coating outside glazing (item # 1) can cause the degradation under the influence of adverse weather conditions and pollution from the air.
